Carlos’ Testimony

I had the awesome privilege of being a student at the Potter’s House. After being incarcerated for the umpteenth time and struggling with a drug addiction for more than 20 years, I was released from prison, and I went to the Potter’s House not knowing what to expect. All I knew is I had received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I wanted to get closer to God and continue growing in my relationship with Jesus.

Upon arriving at the Potter’s House, I was received warmly by other students and the staff. I felt a peace I can only describe by Philippians 4:6. I knew right away this was going to be a different experience. After getting to know Lloyd, Rob, Lanny, and the Hoover family, I knew this was where I needed to be. Even my family loved visiting me at the Potter’s House! My youngest son called it “God’s house,” and I agree. I am so grateful for the Potter’s House and for everyone involved—all the volunteers, those at Carpenter Community Church, and those who helped me in my personal walk with the Lord.

The Potter’s House is a powerful ministry helping transform lives for the kingdom of God. I know this was part of God’s plan for me, and it was only the beginning. I am now involved with the Lancaster city ministry “Todo Pode Roso” that is reaching out to people who are walking in the same way I used to walk.
